Florida Gulf Coast, produces the finest most sought after sponges
in the world. Rock Island Sea Wool Sponges are harvested in deeper
water starting at 60' and beyond, making them more difficult to harvest.
When dry their density make them hard
to squeeze, thus the name - rock! That ability endows them to hold
much more water. These sea sponges are the most durable, densest
and the softest [wet] of all wool sponges lasting up to 10 years.
Size varies between 6" - 7" a good general bath size. Sponges
are all unique and will vary from the picture.
Care requires only infrequent washing in hot soapy water, no bleach,
rinsed with clean water and left to air dry. Natural sponges are
hypoallergenic, need very little care, and will last for years if taken
care of properly. Each sea sponge is unique and a marvel of creation.
